Upcoming House Tour in San Francisco

One of my favorite tours of the year is coming up at the end of April - the San Francisco Decorator Showcase house. They normally have it in a huge mansion in Pacific Heights or Seacliff - this year it is in Pacific Heights. Each room is decorated by a different designer, and it is a great place to see all kinds of styles and interpretations within one space. While many tours are only open for a few days, this tour is open for a month, so it gives you plenty of time to see it and go back again if you loved it.

The tour opens on Saturday April 30, 2011 and goes through to Monday Mary 30,2011. All the money raised goes to the San Francisco University High School financial aid program. You buy the tickets at the door.

You can find more information out at

Enjoy and hope to see you there!

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to I Love House Tours!

I am assuming that if you found this blog, you likely love them too! I also love garden tours, so for you garden lovers out there I will be including garden tours as well.

For the past 5 years I have been keeping a spreadsheet of all the house tours in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have attended as many as I can, and I have shared my spreadsheet with ladies I have met on the tours. In the past couple of years, I have been considering 'formalizing' my love of house tours by creating a website and blog to provide others with a list of tours in their area. I have the domain name, but the website is yet to be created, so I thought I would also begin a blog as it is a little easier to keep updated.

I am interested in expanding my spreadsheet (and website) to include house tours across the USA and perhaps eventually, across the world! If you know of house tours in your area, or you are organizing a house tour and would like some publicity/exposure, please let me know.

In the meantime, I want to thank EACH and EVERY home owner who has so generously opened their house up to people like me. I don't take it for granted and while I know that you often do so for a good cause, you are still opening your house to strangers and I would imagine that is a vulnerable thing to do. So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Here's to the inspiration I get from seeing other's creativity on display in their houses!
